Surrounded
by wetlands, Rann Riders is an eco-friendly resort imaginatively
designed using local materials to recreate the appearance
of a village. Accommodations are in cottages, resembling
the kooba houses of the Bajania community of Dasada
and the bhunga houses of the Rabaris of Kutch, decorated
with mirrors, mud-plaster work and embroideries.
Each of the cottages
has an a/c twin-bedroom, with a comfortable cane bed,
a dry dressing area and a tiled bathroom with western-style
toilet fittings and hot-and-cold showers.
Rann Riders offers
Continental and Indian cuisine that can be served on
the buffet table, preplated or camp-style around a fire.
Tandoori food is a specialty of the resort. On prior
intimation, we serve Gujarati meals, regional specialties
of the Maliks of Dasada, Bengali meals and seafood.
For vegetarians, the Flamingo Restaurant has an extensive
Indian, Chinese and Continental ala carte menu.

Horse safaris, organized by Rann Riders, are a unique experience
that enables you to enjoy both the thrill of cross-country
riding with opportunities to watch wildlife and meet local
communities.
Dasada has a long history of keeping high quality horses.
The ancestors of the owners of Rann Riders led a cavalry of
12,000 horses during the reign of Sultan Muhammad Bhegada
in the 15th century AD. During the British colonial period,
Dasada was known for its fine horses.
Keeping alive the historic legacy of Dasada, Stables at Rannriders
is successfully breeding indigenous breeds of horses like
the Marwari and the Kathiawadi. These horses are attractive
in appearance with an arched neck, a longish head, wide-set
and alert eyes crowned by lovely long eyelashes, a shapely
mouth and lyre shaped ears almost meeting at their tips over
the proud heads. Well-adapted to travel in the desert regions
of the Thar and the Rann of Kutch, these are hardy horses
with great stamina which could thrive on little food and water.
The Marwari and Kathiawadi horses at Rann Riders have consistently
won prizes at horse shows held in recent years.
You can choose from short riding trips exploring villages
and settlements near Rann Riders or a long distance horse
safari during which you can see bird-rich lakes and ride past
desert wildlife like the endangered Asiatic wild ass. Arrangements
for the safaris include an escort rider from the local villages,
food, camping arrangements, folk entertainment and sightseeing.
